Position Overview

The Concessions Cashier will take orders, accept payments, and serve customers at the concession stand in the Sports Village. Required to follow all Provincial and Local food handling, and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for opening and closing the concession stand. Includes cleaning, organizing,
prepping the station, keeping it sanitary and safe.
• Notes supplies that need to be replenished.
• Takes customers’ orders and assembles them correctly.
• Answers inquiries from customers, having a knowledge of all menu items in the
concession stand to be able to provide information and answer questions about menu
items.
• Serves food and beverages in a timely matter.
• Accepts payments from customers (cash, debit, credit).
• Enter data into a computerized cash registered system.
• Reconciles and balances cash register at close.
• Performs other related tasks and projects as assigned, which are in accordance with job
responsibilities or necessary department and corporate objectives.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act and
Regulations and the Corporate Health & Safety policy & related procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a Grade 10 education is required.
• Cash handling experience is considered an asset.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math skills with the ability to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale
system.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow directions and effectively perform duties.
• Ability to interact with customers, clients, and staff in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Ability to reach, stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift items up to 25lbs.
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
• This position is required to work at The Sports Village facility in Vaughan.
• The successful candidate will be required to obtain a current, clear Criminal Record Check from an accredited Police Service prior to employment.
