We are looking for an Articling Student for the 2025/2026 articling term to commence in 2025.The Articling Student will rotate through our practice areas: Planning, Real Estate, Municipal and Litigation, and will be given valuable hands-on experience and responsibilities within a friendly and supportive environment, receiving guidance and mentorship throughout the articling term. Because the City of Vaughan provides a broad range of public services the Articling Student can expect to be exposed to a variety of legal issues and areas of law including commercial, construction, labour and employment, civil litigation and planning litigation, as well as real estate and development law.For more information please visit the City’s Articling Program webpage.
The Articling Student will:• Conduct legal research• Prepare memoranda and legal opinion• Attend and participate in client meetings• Attend courts and tribunals as applicable and assist lawyers in litigation matters• Draft agreements, pleadings, Council reports, bylaws, and other documents as requiredQualifications:To be eligible for the Articling Student position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:• By the commencement date of articles, completion of LL.B. or J.D. or LSO approvedequivalency;• Class G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle; and• Such other articling student eligibility requirements as required by the Law Society ofOntario.Application Requirements:• Together with your resume, please provide a cover letter and your undergraduate,graduate (if applicable) and law school transcripts.• Applicants should specify in their submission the date the Applicant is available tocommence articles in accordance with the Law Society of Ontario rules.
