Responsible for the supervision of administration staff, service contract administration management, capital and operating payment administration, work order and card access process and various administrative services for the department in collaboration with management and department staff to achieve department objectives.Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives, and service excellence projects, and liaison with staff, Members of Council, Executive Assistants, Senior Management, other departments, the business community, and the public with regards to job related duties.
• University Degree in Business Administration or suitable equivalent of education and experience.• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in administration and contract management, including two (2) years supervisory experience, in a municipal/union environment.• Effectively multi-task to provide a high level of administrative management while supervising staff and maintaining department objectives and service levels.• Ability to self-direct, work independently without supervision, make informed decisions in keeping with the department's objectives and guidelines.• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills with thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.• Possess exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise staff and superior customer service skills dealing courteously and effectively with the public, staff, other levels of government, and elected officials.• Superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.• Excellent analytical and diligent problem-solving abilities with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to exercise discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential or sensitive material.• Possess a valid Ontario “G” Driver ’s License, in good standing, with access to a reliable vehicle for corporate use, if required.• Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in the City’s core and leadership competencies and relevant functional competencies.• Ability to work outside regular business hours as required.
